Finding Freedom in Fun Projects; Video Journal Jan. 5th, 2015

This is my first blog post.

Right now I am Finding Freedom through some fun projects!!

Making goals for the year can be pretty hard if you don't have some guidance, which is why I really like Zig Ziglar's Wheel of Life-I do add in the category of home though, because for me that is a separate thing.  When I was looking at it last year for this year's goals, I noticed that I had several areas in my life that were actually weighing me down instead of being niches of freedom.  Here's a couple of the things I was slacking in, along with the factors that played a part in my depression in this area:

My family at home:  I wasn't being intentional about time with the kids-having dinner together, activities, etc., and before I knew it an entire year would go by;  Depression Factors:  Sad that we didn't do what I wanted to that year, my kids are getting so big, I am such a boring person, we spend so much time watching TV, this is not HOW I want my kids to remember me.

Social:  So often, when I see someone, I say, "We should do coffee sometime."  The sad thing is, I never do it, and I know it even as I'm saying it.  Depression Factors:  Feeling guilty that I never get together with anyone I say I'm going to, bogged down with my brain trying to remember all these people I said I was going to meet with BECAUSE of course I never write it down, always feeling too busy to get to know anyone better even though I really actually want to get to know them better, feeling like a liar & a loser.

Anyways, these are depressing!!  Blah, so I took a look at each of the categories and decided what I could take out, and what I needed to be more intentional about.  In fact, it was really looking MORE at what I could take out, because I can tell you for sure that there are things in each category that are completely unnecessary, and when I say "Yes" to those things, it CAN mean that I have to say "No" in more important things or to important people in my life.

Anyways, I will go more into this later, but I wanted to share a little bit of that with you, because one of the things that brings me joy is making things for people, and I got to make my hubby a Man Cave both for his birthday and Christmas, and I took a video for my check-in to show you what I was working on, so here it is:
